Let us consider the possibility that it’s not racially insensitive to want to redefine the requirements for citizenship in the 14th amendment. Let us also consider the historical context of the 14th amendment. There was open immigration in 1868, which means that there were no illegal immigrants.

As Obama completed his tour through five states yesterday, two contradicting themes were made clear: Democrats have accomplished a lot and Republicans have stopped them from doing anything.

St Petersburg — As reported earlier in other news, Floridians with corrosive Chinese drywall in their homes will get property-tax breaks under a bill that Gov. Charlie Crist signed into law this week.
Governor Charlie Crist signed HB 965 on Tuesday. The law, unanimously passed by the House and Senate will take effect immediately, and will require local property appraisers to temporarily declare certain homes with the high sulfur wallboard as worthless for tax purposes.
