Let us consider the possibility that it’s not racially insensitive to want to redefine the requirements for citizenship in the 14th amendment. Let us also consider the historical context of the 14th amendment. There was open immigration in 1868, which means that there were no illegal immigrants.
The purpose of the amendment was to ensure that African Americans born in the United States were guaranteed the right of citizenship. It was commonly understood to be the case, as affirmed by Senator Jacob Howard in 1866:
Every person born within the …

As Obama completed his tour through five states yesterday, two contradicting themes were made clear: Democrats have accomplished a lot and Republicans have stopped them from doing anything.
Monday night Obama told a fundraiser in Holywood this:
“We have been able to deliver the most progressive legislative agenda — one that helps working families — not just in one generation, maybe two, maybe three.”
However, an LA Times article from this morning told a different (and more accurate) story with the headline, “Obama now blames poor job numbers on congressional inaction. …

U. S. District Judge Vaughn R. Walker’s opinions matter more than the voters of California. I figured it would be prudent to let you read that to see how it feels. All too often liberal, activist judges have been the key movers and shakers of the liberal agenda. We’ve seen it before, most notably with the legalization of murder of unborn children.
Judge Walker’s decision basically ignored any argument from the supporters of Prop. 8 and gave a sweeping, albeit arbitrary, approval of the opponents’ agenda. Here are some …

Senator Diane Feinstein from California just wrote a blog in the ultra liberal Huffington Post, putting her two cents in on the evils of capitalism. The title was, “Urgent Action Necessary to Stop Health Insurance Corporation Greed”. WOW! Doesn’t that just get you all fired up?
Feinstein starts out by saying, “Once again, a major health insurance company has been forced to rescind plans for double-digit rate hikes on California consumers after an independent investigation discovered “errors” in the formulas used to calculate the figures.” She goes on to talk about …

Remember that silly picture of Reagan’s ghost clapping for Palin? Well, we thought it would be funny to see equally crazy pictures so we made some! Here’s the first of many to come – feel free to copy as much as you’d like, it’s public domain.

Has anyone else noticed the carefully planned, strategic, and targeted vilification of the private sector by the current administration in Washington D.C. and all it’s Marxist cohorts. This idea is being pushed and has been pushed on us for sometime now by the progressive/Marxist movement in this country (also known as the radical left or liberals, they go by so many names these days…), that corporate shareholders and CEO’s are these horribly evil, greedy, soulless people that want only to exploit the American working class, pollute the environment and oppress …

Not long after Edmund G. “Jerry” aka “Moonbeam” Brown was declared the winner of the Democratic primary for California’s gubernatorial race, Sarah Palin appeared on Fox News to remind us all how dangerous his policies would be for Californians, citing the economic damage done to California during his time first term as Governor.
Moonbeam’s campaign was quick to respond. His official website has an article posted called “Palin Attacks”, labeling her an extremist and calling her remarks a “pathetic right-wing attack”. The article also makes sure to point out that Mrs. …

For Meg Whitman, the G.O.P candidate in California’s upcoming gubernatorial race, rough seas await. Her democratic opponent is none other than former two-term, ex-governor Jerry Brown, who must be chomping at the bit in anticipation of the November elections, by which time the “Meg Whitman for Governor” campaign may be dead in the water, having morphed into nothing more than an expensive novelty act. Sad too, because the costly, carefully crafted ads, along with the clear, common “business” sense rhetoric she espoused was somewhat effective, serving her well, in an …

While Most of Those At Government Trough Only Inspire Nausea
Government entities on all levels pay for feasibility studies of all sorts for various projects; some studies are successful and promising but I’d wager that a good many of them are mis-handled, mis-appropriated, and are highly suspect of being awarded through some level of cronyism. A HUGE waste of money, whether federal, state, county, or municipal (and let’s face it, at some point along the trail, a good chunk of it comes from the fed anyway, and ALL of it comes from our …

Lisa Miller, perhaps one of the most anti-Christian voices in the mainstream media, seems to think two things: America is not a Christian nation and that is a good thing.
Granted this is an older article, it’s disturbing enough to warrant a commentary. Perhaps the most disturbing quote is this:
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.” Americans are no longer buying it.
Really? Is that why the number of self-described of evangelicals went up 4% between 1992 and …
